Who Typically Lodges Your Strata Insurance Claim
Strata claims are most often lodged on behalf of the body corporate by either:
- An owners committee member, such as the secretary or chairperson
- Your strata manager
- Your insurance broker
Individual lot owners wishing to lodge a claim should first consult with their owners committee.
Information needed to lodge your claim
- Policy information – strata plan number and policy number
- Property address – the address of the strata property
- Incident details – the date of loss or the date the damage was first discovered, where the damage occurred and what was damaged
- Contact details – for people involved with the claim
Supporting documentation we may request
- Photos of the cause of damage and resultant damage
- Quotations, invoices, and reports from attending contractors confirming the cause of damage
- Any other information you think will be useful in reviewing your claim, such as information regarding other people, vehicles or property involved
