General Insurance Code of Practice

Strata Community Insurance supports the aims and objectives of the Insurance Council of Australia’s General Insurance Code of Practice.

The Code is designed to:

(a) commit us to high standards of service;

(b) promote better, more informed relations between us and you;

(c) maintain and promote trust and confidence in the general insurance industry;

(d) provide fair and effective mechanisms for the resolution of complaints and disputes between us and you; and

(e) promote continuous improvement of the general insurance industry through education and training.

The Code provides important information about your and our rights and responsibilities relating to: buying insurance; claims; complaints and disputes; standards for our employees, authorised representatives and services suppliers; information and education; and other matters.

The Code also recognises that we are all likely to experience vulnerability at some point in our lives. This may arise from life events, such as an illness, natural disaster or loss of income.
